Our Heart's Path
"Your heart and my heart are very, very old friends." ~Hafiz
If I met you on the path and asked, ‘May I join your tribe?’ What might you say? Our connection to one another is paramount to our survival. Our willingness to see our own light reflected in another is an essential thread in the web that binds all of us together in the pursuit of our freedoms, happiness and equality, and keeps us from isolation.
If we met on the path and I asked you, ‘Might I call you family?’ How would you respond? Every day we are granted the opportunity to connect with one another and yet still have times in which we feel completely alone. How do we become so disconnected as to think that we are the only ones to experience sorrow and hopelessness? It is when we have, for the moment, lost the upward rise of Radiant Heart; the practice of upliftment and courage. When we have forgotten the spark in the dark, the light of compassion. It is when we neglect to share the light - the art of nurturing commonality and community and togetherness. When we can see our reflection in one another is when we undo our aloneness. Our radiant hearts are true, the light a beacon that guides us to one another.
If we met each other on the path and you asked, ‘Do you remember me?’ I can only have but one answer; because your heart and my heart are very, very old friends.
I'll see you all on your mats.
