Winging Our Way Home
“Sometimes what you’re looking for is already there.” ~Aretha Franklin
We are humans. Constantly reaching out, seeking for answers to our unanswered questions. Feeling our way around in the darkness with each fingertip, looking for the way to turn on the lights. But our quest need not start very far from home.
If Radiant Heart is a spark in the darkness, our wings are what fan the flames. While our initial loftiness is created through the expanse of the ribs, our ability to stay light in flight is through the work of our wings. They extend forward, up and away from the earth in a continuing trajectory of radiant heart and the action of flapping helps keeps us aloft. But if it weren’t for the center, our wings would be fluttering in the dark.
So much of the knowledge we seek is contained in what we already possess, but we don’t believe often enough that we could possibly, already know the answers. And so we continue the search, looking everywhere but within - everywhere but home - for the power to keep ourselves aloft. But as Aretha knew, sometimes what we're looking for is already there. She believed it, and became a queen. What do you think you could do?
I’ll see us together on our mats.
