Wings of Change
“So you see! There’s no end to the things you might know, depending how far beyond Zebra you go…” ~Dr. Suess
Change is inevitable. It may one time feel refreshing, as when a new and bright opportunity comes your way and shines a light on a path we may not have otherwise seen. It might another time feel as though a rug has been pulled out from underneath your feet and life turns upside down. Chances are, all of us have had the experience of both. We have been through it and see our circumstances with greater clarity on the other side, and yet we still do not have any control over how or when it happens. What we do have is a choice of how we embrace it.
Change discourages stagnation and inaction. It facilitates our growth because it doesn’t allow us to remain the same. And certainly not all change is comfortable. But it will show us something about ourselves. That sensation you have of your ribs growing wider? Radiant Heart is expanding. The increasing feeling of strength in your arms? Your wings are opening. A greater perception of balance? Your roots have grown deep. A sense of connectedness to the greater whole? That is our Bowspring practice at work. None of these changes are happenstance, and without a doubt have taken your willingness and your effort. Your perseverance in practice says quite a lot about just how far beyond Zebra you’re willing to go.
We will not always desire it, but change will happen regardless. We cannot see the outcome until we arrive there, but we can choose whether we let it happen to us or expand our wings to embrace it. There is no end to the things we may know.
I look forward to seeing us on our mats, together.
