Tis’ the season! It is upon us, whether we have arrived ready or not. A season that calls for celebration, connection and reflection. A time for us to practice gratitude for all that we have and generosity in what we can give away. And moments for us to cultivate harmony and equilibrium in the middle of mayhem.
Each of these opportunities invites the space for allowing quiet so that we may make the choice to show up for ourselves and one another in a manner that reflects our best intentions. The quiet is where we root, so that we may rise to our fullest potential. Our Bowspring practice invites a physical movement reflective of this pulse; the root of the hips back and down to invite the boundless rise of the heart. The spools of our waist and neck narrow and lengthen with the forward and upward rise of the bow. And there is a naturalness to the breath that guides us in our pulsation, an exhalation to bow and look inwards and an inhalation to express and open upwards.
As we continue through the bustle of the holiday, greeting family and friends alike in celebration, may we give ourselves the gift of practices that keep us on an even keel. That we remain committed to the roots of our wellbeing whilst rising to the joy of the occasion; that we remember to breathe deeply, and create space for the infinite cycle of our own pulse.
I look forward to us being together on our mats!
