Please, be still for a moment. Welcome your eyes to close, and then listen carefully. In the silence, tell me what you hear. What music is being created within? What station are you tuned into?
Our heart is a station, each with it’s own signature music. Like tuning in to a fading radio station, transmissions from the heart can become garbled in static, or grow quiet altogether. We may ultimately move out of range of even hearing the faintest whisper. But the music remains. The Bowspring is a practice, is our practice, of tuning back in to the messages our hearts are always sending out.
Every time we begin our practice, we allow for the space to breathe. To still the mind and follow the path of this stillness to our very center. And in that space, we encourage the globe of Radiant Heart to grow; wider, fuller, and up and away from the earth. The ribcage too, that bony aspect of the heart’s protection, expands with a circumferential fullness helping to keep the buoy of the torso afloat and our wings aloft. But if we are to stay as full and continue to sway to our own beat, we must continue to come back to this focus, again and again.
When we move the needle away from the station of the heart, or cease to listen, the music grows quiet. The globe of radiant heart may grow smaller, and in the ensuing static our true intent can be lost. But when we dial in, and through our practice allow ourselves to fine tune, the heart’s message is clear: compassion, gratitude, empathy, empowerment, radiance…
Like a drum beat. All we need to do is listen.
Let us come to dance on our mats.
